  1. Grasp the brush lightly. Always use a soft bristled brush.

  2. For back teeth, on the buccal (the side towards your cheek) and lingual (tongue side) surfaces, make small circles per tooth, with the bristles at 45 degrees, making sure to brush your gums as well as your tooth.

  3. For occlusal (the chewing surface of back teeth), run the toothbrush straight, back and forth across the chewing surfaces of upper and lower back teeth.

  4. For front teeth, angle 45 degrees to gums and rotate the brush downward once bristles are touching the tooth. See first image below and imagine rotating your wrist away from your body.

  5. For the backsides of your front teeth, turn your toothbrush perpendicular to the floor. Glide the bristles along your tooth, starting from gumline. See image 3 below.

  6. Don't forget to brush your tongue! It harbors bacteria too.

  7. If you have any crowns or bridges, make sure to pay special attention the areas of the junction of the material and your natural tooth. --Use a floss threader for bridges. Message me through the contact tab above if you need more information on these!

Brush 2x daily for 2 minutes. Play your favorite song!

Floss 1x daily.

Proper brushing and flossing will help prevent tooth decay and gum disease.

Keep sugar intake and frequent snacking to a minimum to also aid in reducing tooth decay.
